Hey Pete, My Son & I, Chris Wilson, did a few of your workshops and Chris followed you around at Winfield 5-6 years ago. You and he were "cardiac brothers" I don't know if you remember, but we will always remember the little bit of time we spent with you in the workshops at Winfield and also the workshops at Kaufman. I just saw on line that you had a heart attack and a stroke, I hope you are feeling better. Just wanted to wish you all the best and say Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for all your help and for all that you have given all of us learning to play the guitar. All the best, Dan & Chris Wilson

Hi Pete, Greetings from Australia, I am glad to hear you are mending. I have watched you many times on The Wildlife Concert, how I wish I had just an ounce of your ability! I am an old girl learning finger picking and can't thank you enough for your four Learn to Play John Denver DVDs. I have even opened the eyes of my very young teacher! Thanks for the earlier version of Darcy Farrow, as that is the next song we are going to learn (after Ponies). When you have a spare minute (hehehe) could you please find it in your heart to do tabs for "A Baby Just Like You", it would be awesome to have a finger picking song to present at next years Christmas concert with my music class. Have a very Merry Christmas, Michele

Dear Pete -- I wanted to say than you for your Truefire Lone Arranger work. It's a great collection and truly inspiring for an old guitar player like myself that's trying to grasp a few new ideas. I enjoy your laid back teaching style and your subtle sense of humor. Very much appreciated. Your little comment on things are looking up about the whole stroke and all. You're a funny guy. Thanks so very much. Jim Botsford

I had the great pleasure of seeing your concert on Sunday in Janesville, WI with John Oates. I'm (sometimes) an opera singer. I have been lucky enough to see some amazing performances over the years. But I honestly have to tell you that yours was one of the most inspiring that I have ever seen. Not only was I stunned by your brilliant playing but I was deeply touched by your shining spirit. You've moved me to try to be a better artist and musician (i.e., practice!), especially when life is difficult. It was a real pleasure to meet you and thanks again for your autograph and for posing for a picture. Your health and your family will continually be in my prayers. You make the world a better place! I'm grateful you're in it.

Enjoyed your performance tremendously today in Janesville, Wisconsin! Thank you for being so gracious with your time, chatting and signing and photos. You are an inspiration and I will keep you in prayer. How very talented you are! (Oh, yeah, and that other guy, too, John, was good...just kidding, you both were fantastic). Drove 70 miles each way to see you guys and would have driven 700 more. Come back again!!!

Hi pete! How are you today? Hope your fine and healthy so that you can play the music i'm going to request for you to play and add to your music, hahaha.. Pete can you please learn and Play the song or melody of (ERICA's BALLAD)?-from an anime' series called "Daimos"'s ending song. This love song is from a japanese tv show from the 80's. The melody is so nice and it will match your darcy's guitar melody. I know that only you can bring or deliver the memories behind this sweet love song. I hope you will read this message and hoping to see you play the melody on youtube soon. Thank you so much and God bless you and your family & more years to come.

Hi Pete, God has truly given you a gift for playing the guitar. I just ordered a couple of your DVD's and love the way you play. You have truly inspired me to learn how to play mine. I was just reading your blog about what has been going on in your life the last couple years and find you a truly amazing person. My little triple bypass at 63 hardly seems like nothing now. But it has helped me realize a few things about priorities for the rest of this life. One of my bucket list things is to learn to play my guitar and learn the piano. I will keep you in prayers always and wish you all of God's blessings. I look forward to learning from your DVD's & books. Maybe one day our paths will cross out there. Take care and keep playing that wonderful music, as well as teaching it to others. Gods speed, Dianna

Hey Pete and Erin ... I am so late in getting on this site and checking things out. I am so happy that you are doing well and keep doing better all the time. Certainly an answer to many, many prayers! Your new project sounds wonderful and I am hoping I can help out in some way. Just wanted to touch base and say you guys are so loved and appreciated! So cool that Sean has a CD out now ... it was just a matter of time ... I still see that little girl rocking out to air guitar on the fireplace ... Leslie

Hi Pete; I'm a fellow guitarist and a fan of yours for several years here in the "Great White North!" (also a fellow Collings user) I was in Nashville just last week on holiday and the folks I was staying with surprised me with tickets to the Loveless Cafe show you did Aug.1st. After the show I had the chance to briefly chat with you and get your autograph. Just wanted to tell you once again how much I enjoyed seeing you "live" and what a true inspiration you are ! A few years back I was suffering from a chronic back problem...mainly due to a birth defect, exasperated by a car accident. Now by no means was this even close to what you've had to go through, but with determination, hard work, exercise, etc., etc., I was able to make things manageable enough that I could play my guitar and enjoy a better quality of life. You are a true inspiration...both as a musician and a person, and it was a pleasure finally meeting you! All the very best to you...hope to see you play again in the future!

Pete, I was listening to WSM 650 today and heard your interview and health problems, wow thank God you're doing well. My mentors Jerry Reed, Merle Travis and Chet and you are right there amongst them. I have been pickin' since age 13, my 1st guitar given to me by my great Aunt an old guitar then with a warped neck I played it till my finger tips were hard as a rock. I took a few lessons from a great guitar player here in town teaching me notes, I finally said just teach me some songs, he showed me Freebird, Sweet Home Alabama, and China Grove and I was on my way. I grabed a tab book, then began playing by ear. Now in a little country band playing a lot of Haggard, and Buck Owens. I think now Im ready for the finger thumb style. Any pointers?....... keep up the good work. Brent

Brent - Go to my website and look up the free tab section. Grab something from there and get to work. The best thing you can do is just jump in and go.... and don't look back!

Pete, please take care of your health. The music you've played has been in my heart and soul for many , many years. Don't know why I never "mailed" on this blog before but guess it's never too late. Been going thru the Fogelberg DVD you did for Homespun and it's been a joy. Got a cousin that did a part in Dan's Memorial weekend in Springfield and wrote a replacement backtrack that Jean put on the website. Got two cousins in Nashville that you might have run into : Jack Gavin and Mark Morell. Hope you'll do another Fogelberg DVD sometime soon. Would love to see your breakdown of other hits, esp. Tuscon, and Name of the Game. Like so many others, JD was what inspired me to get my first 12 string, so many years ago. Best regards, Kirk

Kirk - I've got another Fogelberg DVD coming out in August! And yes, it does have Leader Of The Band on it. Yahoo!

Hi Pete, I saw your email too late to view the interview/instructional video online last night, but I have watched and very much enjoyed the saved version. It really is great to see you doing so well in your recovery and progress, and it is clear that your chops are returning wonderfully. The humor...well, it's still there, so we have to put up with it. ;-) All the best to you and Erin, David T.

Pete, just saw your latest Caring Bridge update and wanted to you to know that even better than praying for you, I'm simply believing and expecting the best for you. After too many decades of stumbling around on this planet thru my own ups & downs, I've finally realized that faith is simply what you expect is going to happen - looking into the future with great anticipation knowing that even though it may be pretty interesting/challenging, its going to be good. Know that many are expecting a mountain to be moved in your life and are cheering you on. Thanks for all the great music, and even more thanks for being an inspiration to us all. God is with you. Hey Pete, Just read your blog here on your website. Great to hear that you are doing well!! You continue to be in our prayers. And you continue to be a great influence in my playing. Everytime I see you play or listen/watch one of your lessons, I learn a ton of stuff. Wish I was closer as I'd love to take one on one lessons from you. Anyway, hang in there and keep on doing what you do. Thanks for the great inspiration that you are. Steve

Dear Pete - A couple of your songs are always in my car CD player. I just marvel at your talent when I hear your covers. As a cancer survivor I some times just hold my Strat, play an Amaj7, and feel the healing warmth of the guitar flow through me even though I can't play very well any more. My heartfelt best wishes to you and your family in your recovery and future. Maybe you can bring your guitar to Minnesota some day and teach us a few licks. Peace.

Dear Pete - had to drop you a line to let you know how happy we are at the recovery you are making. You are such an inspiration to me. I've wasted far too much time feeling sorry for myself and my heart issues which seem pretty minor when I read your story. You've inspired me in music and in life. I can't say how much it means to me. It's been quite a trip since the Listening Room in Roswell to today. Lots of ups and downs. But more ups I think. We wish nothing but the best for you and Erin and wish for your continued improvement and look forward to the day you get a little closer to Atlanta to do a show. Can't wait to be there. Thanks for everything. Ed and Dee Brown
